HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THE EMPLASTRUM SOLUTION?
People who have psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema or other chronic skin condition that respond to light therapy are potential candidates for our service. Those with relatively small, scattered areas of involvement or who want additional control for problem areas when taking combination therapies are ideally suited to EmPlastrum Home Phototherapy Device.
Our wearable, targeted device is designed to deliver a precise dose to affected areas and minimize treatment of unaffected skin. The total surface area for each treatment is a quadrangle (8 x 11 cm). Treatments may require from seconds to minutes to deliver depending on your skin color, diagnosis and the stage of your therapy.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HOME TREATMENT VERSUS IN-CLINIC CARE?
Home treatment can be done any time of day and according to your personal schedule. If you need to change to a later time of day, you can! Your EmPlastrum Home Phototherapy Device is also very compact and easy to take with you when traveling. Sometimes EmPlastrum Device home therapy is prescribed in addition to in-clinic phototherapy.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF PHOTOTHERAPY?
Although the safety features and targeted nature of the handheld helps to minimize unwanted side effects, phototherapy does come with some risks. The most common short-term side effects are tanning, hyperpigmentation, skin texture changes, and in some rare instances, scar formation. These changes can often be alleviated or prevented with careful, observant care. Increased incidence of skin cancers in patients who have received NB-UVB therapy has not yet been established; however, few large studies have been done looking at the long-term effects of NB-UVB in your skin condition. As a result, the risks and benefits must be weighed by you and your physician. Chronic exposure to UV can damage eyes. Thus, it is important to wear safety eyewear during each treatment session.
HOW DO I OBTAIN A PRESCRIPTION?
We recommend contacting your doctor to determine if you may be a good candidate. When scheduling an appointment, we recommend requesting an evaluation for home UVB therapy. If your physician is very familiar with your situation, he or she may be comfortable prescribing EmPlastrum Solution immediately. Should you need assistance, we’re happy to reach out to your physician on your behalf. If you do not have a doctor, we can also help you to find a prescribing physician.
WHAT IF MY SKIN CONDITION DOES NOT IMPROVE WITH HOME LIGHT THERAPY?
Unfortunately, no treatment is effective for all patients. Together, you and your doctor can decide the best course of action if it is determined you do not respond to phototherapy.

HOW DOES PRE-ORDERS WORK?
The EmPlastrum device uses unique and patented technology. The path of the medical device to the market is very long, and we are glad to announce that in 2023 we will have the CE mark and be eligible to deliver EmPlastrum devices to our first customers.
For our first customers (early evangelists) we offer a 1 000 EUR discount and all needed support. To become an "early evangelist" you need to pay upfront 100 EUR to secure a spot in a particular Batch. If you change your mind after depositing, we can return your money at any time (but you will lose your place in a specific Batch).
The rest amount of the money (or 1/3, depending on the payment plan) should be transferred at least 5 days before getting the EmPlastrum device.

WHAT IF MY DEVICE BREAKS OR DOESN’T WORK?
Support is available to help troubleshoot or assist in replacement or repair when necessary.
IS THE SYSTEM COVERED BY A WARRANTY?
Yes, there is a one year warranty that covers the device and software for manufacturer’s defects.
CAN I RETURN MY DEVICE?
If your device has stopped working and is still under warranty, please contact us for troubleshooting assistance. If we find that your device is in fact defective while within the warranty period, we will issue a replacement upon receipt of the defective device within 7 days. If the root cause is determined to be a software defect, we will address the defect with a patch within a reasonable time frame. If the failure is determined to be caused by the user or is otherwise outside of the scope of the warranty, we will bill for time and materials to fix your device or charge for a replacement device.
WHAT IF I CANNOT GET A PRESCRIPTION?
If you cannot get a prescription, we will issue you a full refund.
CAN I PAY IN PARTS (INSTALLMENTS)?
Yes, you can! Installment payments refer to a customer paying a bill in small portions throughout the year. EmPlastrum Devices can be purchased in three equal installments of 333 EUR over the year.
